Music workshop for children


We invite you to sign up your children for a music workshop led by the flutist Meila Tome from Brazil, which will be held at the American Corner on Friday, July 24th starting at 5 pm and will last until 6.30 pm. In this workshop, children ages 5 to 12 will have the opportunity to hear several pieces performed by the facilitator of the workshop, learn the basic elements of playing the recorder and perform together a simple composition.

The workshop will be held in English language, but the translation will be also provided. 

It is desirable that children bring their own recorders, but you will be able to tell us otherwise in the registration form.


More about the workshop facilitator:

Meila Tome was born in 1986 in Brasilia, Brazil in a musical family. She began her studies in Brazil and continued in Belgium where she graduated with a master’s degree. Throughout the Erasmus program she continued master studies in Portugal. She performed in Belgium, Germany, Brazil and Serbia with orchestras and as soloist. Besides recorder, Meila studied viola and clarinet.
She participated in several festivals of early music, the music she usually performs.
