After the intervention in the Korean War 1950-1953, defending the democracies of the world and opposing the spread of communism in Southeast Asia, the United States of America joined the Vietnamese military forces to intervene in Vietnam. The military conflict between Viet Cong and the US Armed Forces lasted from 1964 to 1975. American army withdrew at the end of the war, and North and South Vietnam united into the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

What is the extent of success of the U.S. diplomacy and military in trying to thwart Communism in Southeast Asia? Did the US administration have the support of its citizens for this intervention? What were the consequences of the Second Indo-Chinese War (Vietnam War)? Find out by coming to this lecture.

Everyone is welcome!
