Presentations: Diversity Lottery and Summer Work and Travel

We invite you to the presentations of the Consular Section of the US Embassy in Belgrade on the programs: Diversity Lottery and Summer Work and Travel.
The program will be attended by the US consul as well as by the consular staff involved in the programs themselves. The presentations will take place on Friday 17h (SWT); 18h (DV), October 4th, 2019.

The Diversity Immigrant Visa program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is a United States government lottery program for receiving a United States Permanent Resident Card. The Immigration Act of 1990 established the current and permanent.

The lottery is administered by the Department of State and conducted under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). It makes available 50,000 immigrant visas annually and aims to diversify the immigrant population in the United States, by selecting applicants from countries with low numbers of immigrants in the previous five years. As of 2017, around 20 million people apply for the lottery each year.

IMPORTANT: The DV-2021 has several newspapers that will affect the initial application as well as the subsequent visa processing in that program (mostly regarding disqualification process).

US citizens can speak to a consul if they need something from a consulate service half an hour before the first presentations.
