Like any other Friday at 4 PM our guest will be an American.

On January 3rd we will host Timothy Swett, who joined the Department of State in 2008 and served in Mexico, Burkina Faso, Washington, D.C., Jordan, and is presently based in Belgrade with his family where he is the Regional Refugee Coordinator.   Prior to joining the Department of State, Timothy worked from 2000 – 2008 with an NGO supporting the needs of refugees and displaced persons in Sudan, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Iraq, and Thailand.  From 1993-1995, he taught math and English in Okongo, Nambia.  He hails from Chicago.

Topic: Chicago - one of the most diverse cities in the United States, where for decades, immigrants from all over the world have made it their home. Timothy Swett will discuss how immigrants from across the globe brought diversity to the “Windy City.”
