F.A.Q.

On this page you can find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

1. Can I attend lectures organized by American Corner Niš if I’m not a member?

Yes; lectures and presentations, as well as attendance of first conversation classes and other programs, do not require membership status. However, since the membership is free of charge, we recommend you become a member.

2. Is AC Niš a TOEFL test center?

No, the only officially recognized TOEFL test centers in Serbia are in these cities:

Subotica - Open University Subotica

Belgrade - The International Academic Center

Niš - IT Center

Novi Sad- American Corner

3. Can a child be a member of AC Niš?

Yes! Children are welcome to become our members! We also have a special Kid’s Corner with books and other materials for children.

4. How can I become a volunteer of the American Corner?

You can become a VIP member of the American Corner - a so-called ‘’friend of the American Corner’’ by helping AC staff during AC programs. In this way, you will earn privileges in using AC Niš resources.

Also, volunteers can create programs and activities together with AC staff. Everyone with good ideas and willingness can participate. You can organize a conversation group, give a lecture, give a presentation or just help out with technical and administrative work.
This can help you receive valuable experience, meet great people and invest in yourself.

5. Can I order books through AC Niš?

Unfortunately this option is not available. You can always first check if we have the book you are looking for in our collection and the collections of other 7 American Corners.

6. Does American Corner provide visa services?

We do not provide visa services. We only give information about the documentation needed for applying.

You can find more information about how to apply for a U.S. visa at the website for the American Embassy in Belgrade:
