About AC

American Corner in Novi Sad was opened on October 6th, 2004 sponsored jointly by the U.S. Embassy, Belgrade and the Cultural Center of Novi Sad. AC serves as an information outpost similar to a public library reference service and provides access to current and reliable information about the U.S. via book collections, magazines, CDs and DVDs, the Internet. Most importantly, it provides information to the general public through local programming.

The multi-media, book and periodical collections are open and accessible to all members including e-readers, tablets and iPads as tools for reaching diverse electronic collections. Associated reading or meeting rooms are made available to host program events and activities (i.e. author readings, speaker programs, workshops, films, meetings, and exhibits).

The American Corner library consists of a collection of books about the U.S. mostly in English. The book collection includes works of fiction, essays, and reference titles as well as tests preparation books for American colleges.

Access to the American Corner’s collection is free and open to everyone.

Since December 19th, 2015, American Corner Novi Sad introduced the possibility to take the TOEFL® iBT exam.

American Corner became the only institution in Novi Sad, and one of four in Serbia, which is the official TOEFL® iBT test center.

TOEFL test center in Novi Sad offers the possibility of taking this test for a maximum of 15 candidates on computers distributed across three separate rooms.
